Sustainability.
Sustainability is at the heart of our businesses, and we've been working with clients to help deliver their sustainability and net-zero ambitions for over a decade. Our approach is pragmatic and detailed; focusing on systems that deliver in terms of reliability, resilience, ease of use and running costs. For more information or to discuss your project, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
Driven by data and experience
We've constructed our buildings with underfloor heating since our inception, preferring the lower temperatures and consistency of heat that now work very well with air source heat pumps. We also track a selection of our buildings over time evaluating the costs, performance and comfort of occupiers.
Fundamentally our approach is to blend architectural vision with tried and tested materials and approaches that we know stand the test of time. Innovation comes in systems and controls, but our view has always been that the fundamental approach of the building and the use of the occupiers and their needs should be the first consideration.
This experience has put us in a good position to work with clients on delivering their sustainability aspirations. Helping deliver solutions that work and are cost effective and fully informed.
BREEAM
The NHS requirement for BREEAM Excellent ratings on new builds is well established and we have worked within the auspices of BREEAM for healthcare since it was first introduced. We manage the process of compliance directly working with BREEAM Assessors around submission and BREEAM on site roles with a 100% track record for delivery, including most recently delivering a higher as built score than the design assessment.
ISO 14001
HCC is ISO14001 certified providing peace of mind to our clients that our construction projects are delivered in accordance with our environmental policies and processes which in turn ensure we minimise the environmental impact of our activities and work closely with the local communities in which we deliver.
